{Recap} Fabulous Boys Episode 2

The Episode starts of with a dream of Mei Nan again. This time she dreams that she is in the nunnery garden with Tai Jing, Xin Yu and Jeremy who are like the three angels David, Julian and Thomas to her. Together they are laying side by side there.

Of course she is dreaming but not all of it is a dream. When she wakes up she finds herself really laying besides Tai Jing and a half-naked Jeremy.

She runs out to calm herself and organize her thoughts a.k.a her memories. Because of the alcohol she’s got a black out. Only when she sees the wound on her lips she remembers that she touched someones lips with hers.

She closes her eyes and prays that’s all of this is not true. Jeremy who ‘woke’ her up from her very own hypnosis is angry at her and tells her to apologize immediately. Erasing her thoughts that it could have been Jeremy.

When she goes inside Xin Yu is making coffee and telly her to drink one too because something warm is a good thing. Upon seeing his lips and him talking about yesterday’s incident she just apologizes without being sure. She says that it felt like a comet falling down. as long as Jeremy comes in and tells her to apologize to Tai Jing.

Her memories come rushing in. She fell onto him-onto his lips and threw up there. Leading to his unconsciousness as he is a clean maniac.

As one was unconscious and the other one drunk XIn Yu and Jeremy had to carry the two. carrying into the car was filmed and posted on the Internet thus a scandal started revolving Gao Mei Nan who is said to have picked with Tai Jing the handsome, talented, and etc. guy.

Meanwhile Tai Jing is still unable to forget about yesterdays incident and is disgusted when he thinks about it. When Mei Nan goes up to Tai Jings room to apologize and ask for forgiveness Tai Jing was remembering last night and is unable to speak a word / forgive her.

He tells Mei Nan to go out and takes a shower. After he brushing his teeth again and taking a shower he goes back into his room only to see that Mei Nan is spitting in his room which is supposed to be perfectly clean.

Mei Nan was spitting because she took a tea and a candle to his room but the liquid candle part (don’t know how to call it) fell down onto the floor and when she tried to clean it she burnt her fingers. As a result she goes backwards a pushes down the bookshelf, being afraid that the paper from the shelf would fall into the candle she tries to blow it out, shakes with her head and uses ‘water’ in the end.

When Tai Jing goes to her he looks at her angrily and tells her the third Tai Jing rule never enter his room. Then a trophy falls down right onto Mei Nans head causing him to bleed. As Tai Jing holds the trophy when the manager comes he thinks that the 2 of them fought and that Tai Jing hit him with the trophy.

The manager goes with her to the hospital but then realizes that she can’t because she’s now a boy and they would have been exposed. They lie to Tai Jing who wanted to visit her in the hospital.

They only meet each other at the company where a the reporter (forgot his name I’ll make sure to remember his name for the next recap) awaits them. When he sees the wound he connects them to the rumor that started because of the video from the party that Mei Nan and Ta Jing dislike each other and fought at the party. So the big scandal started that Tai Jing has hit Mei Nan.

When Mei Nan goes to the dorm she wants to order Tai Jings shelf but when he enters he gets angry at her again because she has seen the many CDs of his mother Mu Hua Lan who’s also a singer and because she broke another rule : Never touch my things.

Tai Jing leaves the dorm because the boss wouldn’t make Mei Nan leave. Outside the dorm the fans are demonstrating to kick Mei Nan out as they don’t believe that the handsome, etc Tai Jing would beat someone.

At the hotel where he stays he bumps into his mother whom he hates as she has told him before not to follow her because she is famous.

So now he tells her to not cling onto him when he is popular.

At the firm the boss brags about the commercial contract that he was able to get for A.N.JELL that would make Mei Nan’s debut.

So plans changes as before she was told that she doesn’t need to go on stage. Now she has to perform and take photos.

The manager and the stylist had to convince her. This scene was seen by Xin Yu.

Who was the one who carried her after the party and discovered that she is a girl.

But instead of busting her he want to watch quietly and see how things will be.

At the photo shoot Mei Nan needs the help of the manager and the stylist to pose as she doesn’t know what to do.

Jeremy and Xin Yu who decided to come to disturb her show her some poses and

then an insect to scare her pushing her into the arms of Xin Yu.

The manager takes the insect and scares the stylist xD

Even at the dance practice the manager has to help her. He takes her arms and legs and moves them according to the choreography.

Meanwhile the boss contacts Tai Jing and discusses with him about the commercial. He tells him to come immediately to stop the scandal they would have to do the commercial. The boss has to go out for a minute and tells Tai Jing to not go offline.

After the dance practice the stylist and the manager find an ominous ball. They quickly realize that  it for disguising the part between her legs.

So the stylist takes Mei Nan to the view room where there shouldn’t be anyone and correct it. However they didn’t see the laptop that was still on.

Thus Tai Jing discovers that Mei Nan is a girl and saves a copy of the video chat in his mobile phone.

He decides to go to the practice room to make sure. And he is right she is a girl.

After the practice the boys go to take a shower at the first floor. While the manager shows Mei Nan a bathroom in the second floor where there is supposed to be no one.

Unfortunately there is no water in the 1st floor so the boys have to go to the 2nd floor. The manager who was supposed to guard runs out to meet his girlfriend who was waiting outside for him.

Of course it’s nearly impossible to go out there now so she doesn’t know what to do. When she tried to go out wall she saw was naked male bodies.

Only with XI Yu’s help who covers her eyes with the sentence: With you in here I’m unable to take a shower. and leads her outside.

When she thought she escaped the danger Tai Jing appears and shows her the video he captured. She snatches the phone and runs away.

Outside she is cornered by him and he gets it back. But she takes it back immediately and licks it disgusting Tai Jing.

While they fought over it it fell down into someones car.

Ok in the episode 2 you can see some slight changes to the original. Even though it’s still pretty the same. I just love the manager – stylist couple, they are so dorky and fun. They try everything to help Mei Nan ( and themselves) well to maintain the disguise. So now Xin Yu and Tai Jing know that she is a girl one secretly and the other one already want to push her out of A.N.JELL with this evidence. Looking forward to their acting as I already know the plot. Although I really like Jiro Wang it’s really really awkward to see him acting such a character and sometimes his acting is just weird. AND I miss Jolie ❤

{Recap} Fabulous Boys Episode 1

‘Fabulous Boys’ is the taiwanese version of the korean Idol Drama ‘You’re Beautiful’ starring Jiro Wang as Huang Tai Qing, Su Li Wen as Gao Mei Nu/Gemma (her nun name)/Gao Mei Nan (the twin brother), Huang Ren De as Jiang Xin Yu and Yo Evan as Jeremy. It’s about the Idol band A.N.JELL which consisted of 3 members but is later joined by Gao Mei Nu, a nun -to-be, disguised as her twin brother Gao Mei Nan because he is unable to join them for the time being. So she ends up being part of the band and living with the them.

The story begins as we follow Gemma in her dream. She sits in the church praying and is even praised by a nun for her punctuality but then one after another Gemma pop out and leading to her waking up screamingly.

Although she is glad that it was just a dream she quickly realizes that she is too late for the morning prayer and runs to the church. Arriving there she sits behind a girl, apparently Park Shin Hye as Go Mi Nyu, who listens to music loudly on her mobil. 

After Gemma tells her to stop listening to music during the Sermon several times she tries to take the mobil with violence but as they fight over it the mobil flies from one end of the church to the other. She only catches the headphones and pushes the mobil to the ceiling which then falls down and plays music.

At the end of this scene we see Go Mi Nyu for the last time who cheers Gao Mei Nu on. 

We see A.N.JELL performing ‘Promise’ at a concert through the mobil.

The manager talks with the band about Huang Tai Qing’s voice which is supposed to rest. He found an ‘angelic’ voice for the group that would sing the songs that Huang Tai Qing wrote with him. Tai Qing doubts that just anyone could sing his songs. 

Gemma goes out to get her plane tickets to Rome where she’ll officially become a nun. On the way the is followed by a pervert (trench coat without trousers). Luckily the moment it got critical Gao Mei Nan’s manager who was searching for Gemma hits the pervert from behind. But as he wears the same trench coat the pervert does Gemma panics.

He explains himself saying that something big happened to Gao Mei Nan, that she has to help her beloved brother to fulfill his dream of becoming a singer and that she has to go sign the contract to become a member of A.N.JELL in place of him as he isn’t able to do so right now.

In order to do so she has to ‘become Gao Mei Nan’. At first she thinks of weird things but then she agrees to do it one time.

In front of the Company she meets A.N.JELLs fans that had waited for 3 days and A.N.JELL for the first time as she didn’t know them before. She is blended by the aura and looks and even compares them to the three angels David, Julian and Thomas. 

She signs the contract reluctantly because she still thinks it’s wrong and that she is deceiving someone. Afters signing the contract Huang Tai Qing enters and drags her out of the room.

To the recording room where he wants to test his (her) ability. He locks the room up and threatens  to tear up contract. Then even though the manager tells her not to sing no matter what she sings ‘Panis angelicus’ in an angelic voice and amazes everyone thus getting accepted by the band.

Later when the manager and Gemma celebrate the signing he begs her to act as Gao Mei Nan for another month and finally tells her the reason. Mei Nan had done some plastic surgery on his eye (or around it not sure anymore) but the doctor did a bad job and he has gone to America to correct it. But having to perform, singing and dancing with them…

And living with them…

Is something unimaginable for her. So she rejects him and runs away.

Still, she doesn’t really know what to do and ends up praying all day long. Until a nun talks to her and asks her why she wants to become a nun. The nun advices her to go out to the world and live. There’ll be plenty of time for her to decide whether she really wants to become a nun. Even though the nun talked to her that sincerely she thinks God wants her to become a nun and that she has to go to Rome.

At the airport the manager begs her again. We see A.N.JELL at the airport. Huang Tai Qing sees the back of a woman at the airport that resembles someone he knows. Later he bumps into Gemma but doesn’t recognize her. He picks her plane ticket that she has left and she picks up his MP3.

He tries to find her with the member but fails to do so. Gemma on the other side tries to snatch the ticket somehow without him noticing her (she pushes a man from behind with her case, his banana falls down, a playing boy slips on that banana and Tai Qing has to help him letting go of the ticket). Eventually she gets her ticket through the counter where he left it because he had to go.

In the plane Gemma listens to Tai Qing’s songs which have a deep feeling in her opinion and thinks about the request again. She remembers the promise between her and her brother that he’ll become a singer someday to let their mother who is singer hear them. That was when both of them were still together in the orphanage waiting for their father to pick them up.

At first Gao Mei Nu doesn’t appear at the press conference to introduce the new member but then

from behind she plays the guitar and surprises everyone. On her way to the stage we see that had cut her hair. She thanks her brother for remembering their promise in her thoughts and because of that she decided to do it.

We see the woman from before watching the press conference and saying ‘Does this son even look like me’ but it’s not for sure who she means with that, it could be either Tai Qing or Mei Nan.

She easily finds her room inside the dorm thanks to the instructions of the manager. Then she finds the MP3 in her bag and tries to sneak into Tai Qings room to return it but doesn’t make it before he returns.

When he discovers her she sits onto the toilet were she has been hiding and pushes a button that sprayed water into her face because she stood up. As Tai Qing is a perfectionist he can’t accept people going in and out of his room and tells her to leave it angrily.

At the party to celebrate her she gets to know the stylist coordinator and the other artist of the company. All of them give her drinks but as it should be her first time drinking she’s not used to it and get drunken.

When she meets Jiang Xin Yu he tells her to go upstairs to refresh herself. He would come after with a coffee for her. Jeremy sees her walking upstairs thinking that he would pee their because he just saw her in front of the toilet he thinks that she didn’t found it and follows her.

At the rooftop Tai Qing is already there and keeps an eye on her. After a while the Xin Yu and Jeremy come and they watch Mei Nu. Thinking that’ll it’ll be interesting or a disaster with her. She climbs on a bench and reaches out to the stars but slips and falls into the arms of…

Here the episode ends.

If you’ve seen the korean version then you’ll be like, o.O it’s the exact same plot and every single detail is the same. But still I think it’ll be worth watching since the story itself is still good and the songs are also great as ever 🙂 Even though it’s kind of awkward seeing Jiro Wang playing such a role he still does a good job in my opinion. What do you think?

I’ve called the female lead at first Gemma because there she was still the going – to – be nun but then Gao Mei Nu. From the next episode on I’ll start calling her Gao Mei Nan because everyone in the drama will call her that. THis was my first Recap ever so I apologize for my english and if there are things I should change then please tell me. More or less screenshot? Or More or less text? what should I change.
